Hello everyone, and welcome to the Revelry Collection newsletter. As I am writing this I am staring at the Cascade Mountains in Washington. Taking in the last bits of summer. Today I have a big announcement. One that you may already know because of looking at the title of this newsletter. But I will tell you again, I am starting a magazine. And the first issue will be called REVELRY COLLECTION / Volume 001.
Here is a sneak peak of the magazine up above. This sneak peak photo is only being shown to my email subscribers, so stay tuned for more behind the scene looks of the magazine.
Adventure and Travel Magazine
Yup you heard me right, a magazine. It is going to be coffee table magazine focused on adventures and travels around the world. It will feature memorable photos, long form writing, and insightful interviews of people I know you are going to love. Every photo shot in this magazine is going to be shot on 35mm film to give it a raw and tangible feel. For those of you that might not know what that means, 35mm film creates a vintage, raw, imperfect photo that transports the human reading the magazine to that location. I am sure anyone over the age of forty recognizes this form of photography, and I am honored to bring 35mm film back to print.
I have been working on this magazine for over a year. So it only seemed fitting to announce this project on the anniversary date of starting this newsletter. I will be sharing more details over the coming months. Such as where to find me on social, launch date, and more exclusive details that only email subscribers will get. Thank you for your support in subscribing to this newsletter. Every subscriber is important and I could not do it without any and every one of you.
Closing Thoughts
As summer comes to a close, and the fall leaves start coming down in waves. Remember to embrace the last bits of summer, and always welcome the new seasons to come. I will be back next month with some more information about the Revelry Collection Magazine. Until then, keep exploring this amazing world we live in.
Signing off, Bentley Zylstra
Thank you for the inspiration! I’m currently working toward starting my own magazine, and this gave me such a boost of confidence to keep going. It’s so inspiring to see someone succeed at doing what they’re passionate about. I’ll definitely have to pick up a copy—it’s all the stuff I love!
Man, I love this. I'm a recent subscriber and couldn't be happier to have found this Substack. I've considered attempting to create a magazine on and off for two solid years now and reading this post is really inspiring. Maybe one day I'll actually pull the trigger. Great stuff!
